Description

Cyclic synthetic analogue of α-MSH with broader receptor binding than MT-1: activates MC1R, MC3R, MC4R, and MC5R. Significantly more potent than MT-1 and produces stronger tanning and sexual effects. Led to development of PT-141 (bremelanotide) as a sexual dysfunction treatment.
