Description
Sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. Used to reconstitute lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides and medications for injection. Standard diluent in peptide protocols.
Benefits:
Prevents microbial growth in reconstituted vials; allows multiple withdrawals from same vial over time; extends usable shelf life of reconstituted peptides (up to 28 days refrigerated); compatible with most peptides
Side Effects:
Benzyl alcohol hypersensitivity (rare); infection risk if aseptic technique not followed; contraindicated in neonates (benzyl alcohol toxicity syndrome); not intended for direct IV bolus injection
For laboratory research only — not for human consumption.
